Visit of the VdLB to ALPHA LASER in Puchheim

Since 2010, ALPHA LASER GmbH has been a member of VdLB - the Association of German Laser Users in Sheet Metal Processing.

On July 5, 70 manufacturers from sheet metal technology visited us in Puchheim during the annual association meeting. As part of the welcome, the participants got insights into our company philosophy and then came directly in contact with the laser welding technology.

In addition to cutting lasers and hand-held welding systems, our vistors have gained also practical experience with semi-automatic systems. This resulted in new ideas for the use of laser technology in sheet metal production.

Some were surprised how easy the handling of the laser systems is, and even beginners could immediately produce a decent weld. When developing the AL-ARM laser system our engineers were inspired by conventional welding techniques. Here - similar to the TIG welding - welding is done via a handpiece.

The fact that with an ALFlak 900 fiber laser system, in addition to welding, sheets with a thickness of up to 2 mm can be cut freely, was very surprising for the attendees.

As summary we can state that the VdLB members got a good idea of the versatility of ALPHA LASER equipment and how quickly they are set up to a wide variety of tasks.
