Orbital Welding

In orbital welding, the laser beam is guided mechanically and continuously 360° around the workpiece to be welded.

The LASERSPINDEL-O is used for automated circumferential welding of rotationally symmetrical metallic components. It covers standard diameter ranges of 0–20 mm as well as 20–40 mm.

During orbital welding, the laser processing head guides the weld seam in a continuous pass around the round part. A co-rotating gas nozzle ensures optimal shielding gas coverage throughout the entire welding process.

Thanks to the integrated LED lighting and HDMI camera, the laser process can be precisely aligned to the workpiece and continuously monitored.

 

The LASERSPINDEL-O is fully water-cooled and thus suitable for continuous industrial operation.

Typical applications include welding of water connectors onto plate heat exchangers, welding of nozzles, and series production of gas sensors.
